What’s in my camera bag – Visualsofdeniz

Photography has been part of my life since childhood. I have always been drawn to capturing moments, especially the small details that often go unnoticed. Over the past few years, photography has naturally become a bigger part of my daily life, allowing me to develop my perspective as a visual storyteller. It has slowly evolved from something instinctive into something more intentional, shaping the way I observe and experience my surroundings.

Living by the Mediterranean has strongly influenced the way I see things. There is a certain calmness in the atmosphere, a rhythm that feels slower and more grounded. I often find myself paying attention to soft light, warm tones, and quiet, everyday scenes, moments that might seem simple, but carry a particular mood when observed closely.

My photography is not about complexity, but about feeling. I like to keep things calm, minimal, and cinematic, focusing on atmosphere rather than perfection, and on details that might otherwise be overlooked. I am less interested in creating something staged, and more in capturing something honest and natural.

Recently, I started my journey with Fujifilm, and this is my first experience with a Fuji camera. I have always been attracted to Fujifilm colours and the way they render light and mood. It felt like the right moment to step up, start fresh, and really learn photography more intentionally. There are still many things I don’t know, but that’s part of the process, and I am really enjoying it.

Editing has also become an important part of that learning process. I currently use Lightroom, and I am still exploring and developing my own style. I tend to keep my edits soft and natural, leaning towards cinematic tones that reflect the calm and warm feeling I try to capture when shooting.

At the moment, I keep my setup simple as I am still learning and exploring what works best for me. I use a Fujifilm X-M5 paired with the Fujinon XC 15–45mm lens, which covers almost everything I need. I usually carry just a couple of extra batteries and SD cards, nothing more. As I continue learning, I am planning to explore new lenses. I see this as a natural step: experimenting, understanding different focal lengths, and gradually shaping my gear around my style and the way I see.
